Quarantine Portrait Series
The year 2020 presented many unknowns, changes, times of growth, and self-exploration. This poster series was created during the Spring of 2020, where COVID was at its rise and communities were still acclimating to the pandemic. Each poster within the series represents a snapshot of memory or thought during the time. The first poster conveys being overwhelmed with a completely online class curriculum, extended screen time, and being limited to a completely digital space for my social life. The series then transitions to a more hopeful and untroubled tone, featuring a portrait of myself along with a local beach I frequented to relieve myself of quarantine stress. This second piece represents my escape from the digital world. The third poster then looks towards my hopes for the future, longing to travel and see loved ones in person again. While this poster series broadly conveys the thought process of almost everyone in quarantine, the collaged and photoshopped imagery incorporated makes it very personal. It displays how I personally relate to the environments around me and find value in them.
